Your Questions About Weight Loss Plans For Women

Paul asks…

What is the best weight loss method for a 13 year old?

I want to lose a little weight so i can get a six-pack

Maricela answers:

When you are losing weight, you should exercise and diet together.
If you exercise without dieting, you will get bigger appetite, which
will lead to increase of weight, or muscle grow
underneath the fat layer, and make you bulkier. If you diet without
exercising, you will become flabby and will have excess skin. For
diet, go wheat free. No pasta, pizza, bread and so on. And no food
after 7 p.m. People achieve marvellous results with it. Depending on
your initial weight, you can drop upwards from 20 pounds a month. If
you don’t eat wheat then you don’t eat all those sticky, fatty goey
cakes, you don’t eat junk food, and you don’t eat biscuits. But your
diet is still balanced. It costs nothing, and you do not have to
calculate points or to buy special meals or plans. For exercising,
start with walking, and then switch to running/jogging. Running is the
most efficient and calorie-burn exercise ever. If you are overweight a
lot, walk first or you may have health complications (heart attack,
disjointed bones and so on). Weight lifting is a good means to target
your problem areas for men and women. It’s not necessarily to become a
bodybuilder or even join a gym – a couple of dumbbells will help you
to target your problem areas (stomach, butt, legs, arms, chest).

Linda asks…

Any good weight loss plans that actually work?

What are some great diets/exercising plans that actually work and help you lose weight fast?

Maricela answers:

There are several dietary changes you can make that should have you seeing results right away:

*Cut out all processed, refined white flour products (breads, crackers, pastas, etc.) and replace them with whole grain versions (“whole grain” should be the first item on the ingredients list)
*Drop the overprocessed junk foods – including chips, candy, cookies, soda, etc. Replace them with healthy snacks like fresh fruit or small portions of nuts
*Eat only when you’re truly hungry and listen to your body while you’re eating so that you don’t overeat
*There’s also some surprising new research about how the human body isn’t designed to process dairy and animal proteins. If you have the willpower, sticking with a healthy vegan diet that’s heavy on the beans and plant-based proteins is a great way to lose weight quickly.

As for exercise, the best type of exercise is one that you can stick with. I absolutely hate running on the treadmill, but put me in an hour and a half long hip hop dance class and I’ll push myself until I can’t move anymore. Find something that you enjoy and you won’t have any trouble forcing yourself to go every day.

However, it’s not uncommon for women to have trouble losing weight with just diet and exercise alone. The body is more than just a calculator – meaning that there’s more that goes into losing weight than just calories in versus calories out through exercise. If you’re having trouble losing weight, you might want to check with your doctor – there may be an underlying condition like hypothyroidism that’s preventing you from losing weight. I’m also a huge fan of natural, plant-based supplements that help boost energy and metabolism. Just check with your doctor before you start taking anything new – especially if you’re already on any prescription medications.

Hope this helps!

Richard asks…

How many calories should an overweight woman take in a day to lose weight? I need advice.?

I am overweight and I am going about my weight loss all wrong I think.
How many calories should a woman take in while maintaining a steady weight loss?
Is walking a good exercise?
is diet soda okay to drink? Or only water? I am a big diet cola drinker but I heard this can cause weight gain?

All help is appreciated greatly. Thank you so much!
I do not thumb down. Seems the thumb down fairy has been here. LOL!!

Thank you for all the good advice.

Maricela answers:

Walking is great exercise. Diet cola not a great idea but one change at a time might be more helpful for now. I advocate a high calorie, low carbohydrate way of eating for health, weight loss and keeping the metabolism in top fat burning mode.

You will lose more body fat eating protein and fat (don’t eat protein alone) than not eating AT ALL. To lose weight fast eat all you want but nothing but meat, eggs, healthy oils, mayo, butter and half an avocado a day (you’ll need added potassium). Keep the calories high and the fat percentage high, at least 65% of calories. Adding in green vegetables & some cheese will continue weight loss but at a slower pace.

If you starve yourself by lowering calories lower than are needed for the body to function, your body will freak out and will want to store every ounce in case it doesn’t get nourished again. You need to give it adequate nourishment so it doesn’t slow your metabolism down to adjust for lower calories.

Simple carbohydrates (sugar, flour, bread, cereal, pasta, potatoes, rice) triggers insulin which can store the calories you eat into fat. The more protein you eat the more the fat burning hormone glucagon is released. The more carbohydrate you eat the more the fat storage hormone insulin is released.

Simple carbs are addictive and can be disastrous to our health. The best way to break the addiction is NO carbs for 3 days. Make a huge batch of deviled eggs and eat one every time you want “something” have huge omelets for breakfast, with bacon, a lil onion, peppers, mushrooms & cheese. Pork chops for lunch. Get pork rinds and eat them with tuna salad. Steak for dinner. Make a huge sugar free cheese cake for dessert. Eat so much you won’t feel deprived of anything. By the fourth day, your addiction will be gone and you can start making healthy choices.

High insulin levels unbalance other hormones. Controlling your insulin level will balance out other hormones & allow human growth hormone (HGH) to be produced naturally so you will gain lean muscle even without exercise. Any exercise will greatly increase your muscle mass with high HGH levels.

Once you get near your goal, you start adding 5 carbs every 3 days til you gain weight, then you subtract 10 carbs. That would give you your personal carb level (everyone is different and it depends on how active you are.) As long as you remain <9 carbs per hour, you will maintain insulin control, and shouldn't gain weight. Many people gain weight on high carb, then switch to low carb to lose weight & then are shocked when they return to high carb that they gain weight. Many people can return to moderate carb levels but very few can really eat all they want of sugar and maintain weight or health.

Dr.Atkins was a cardiologist, low carb was a health plan easier sold as a "diet" Read any of his books for easily understandable science. Lutz "Life without Bread" & Taubes "Good calorie, bad calorie" are excellent books that dispel all the nutrition myths.

Reducing body fat and increasing muscle mass will have you in awesome shape in no time. Good luck!

Mark asks…

Is eating 1200 calories a day and exercise good for weight loss?

I plan to go from eating under 1000 calories a day to eating 1200-1500, including running for 30 minutes every other day and ballet classes three times a week lasting 1 hour.

Will I gain weight because I am increasing my calories suddenly and drastically?
Will this be enough to help me lose weight?

Maricela answers:

Women are supposed to have 2000 calories a day.
So, no, I doubt you’ll gain weight, specially with your exercise.
Actually, I recommend you gradually eat more after you lose the weight that you want to lose because it’s really unhealthy to be that much lower than 2000 calories.
I really hope this helps ! (:
