Lisa asks…

What will you feel or think about a woman with tattoo?

So I’m planning to have a little tattoo on my wrist. A remembrance of my effort for my weight loss.. I love tattoos but I know what people might think of me. What will you think of me if you don’t know the reason? Thanks! 🙂

Maricela answers:

Congrats on the weight loss. I think of tattoos as a way of self expression. Some people think they are trashy but don’t listen to them. Don’t care about what people think of you, if you love your tattoo that’s all that matters.

Whats a good diet/ weight loss plan for women with polycystic ovaries?

I exercise nearly every day when i am not in too much pain, i walk to and from school too. I also eat healthily. Any other tips or suggestions?

Maricela answers:

The products on this site have proven women well, especially with internal problems as they help to reconstruct the insides and put everything back where it is suppose to be. I am not sure what that means what you have but I am sure this garment might help a little bit…

Carol asks…

How can I build muscle mass, tone my body and lose weight fast?

I’d like to lose weight and build muscle mass. My goal is 20 lbs weight loss over 2 – 3 months. I want to tone my body and I need a physical fitness and healthy nutrition program to do this. I want to do this through diet and exercise. My aim is just to do this through exercise and portion control. No extreme diets just health foods and training. All successful suggestions are welcome. Please tell me what has worked for you?

Maricela answers:

When you are losing weight, you should exercise and diet together.
If you exercise without dieting, you will get bigger appetite, which
will lead to increase of weight, or muscle grow
underneath the fat layer, and make you bulkier. If you diet without
exercising, you will become flabby and will have excess skin. For
diet, go wheat free. No pasta, pizza, bread and so on. And no food
after 7 p.m. People achieve marvellous results with it. Depending on
your initial weight, you can drop upwards from 20 pounds a month. If
you don’t eat wheat then you don’t eat all those sticky, fatty goey
cakes, you don’t eat junk food, and you don’t eat biscuits. But your
diet is still balanced. It costs nothing, and you do not have to
calculate points or to buy special meals or plans. For exercising,
start with walking, and then switch to running/jogging. Running is the
most efficient and calorie-burn exercise ever. If you are overweight a
lot, walk first or you may have health complications (heart attack,
disjointed bones and so on). Weight lifting is a good means to target
your problem areas for men and women. It’s not necessarily to become a
bodybuilder or even join a gym – a couple of dumbbells will help you
to target your problem areas (stomach, butt, legs, arms, chest).

What are the best weight lost pills for women?

I had my first baby 1 year ago. i lost almost all the weight. My belly is almost flat but i have some love handles. i’ve noticed that they are growing. I hate them and want to lose some weight on my belly which is also a little bulgy. What are the best weight lost pills i can use that help burn fat in specific areas of the body like the waist and belly? and where do I buy them?

Maricela answers:

Ditto. The only thing pills trim are money from your wallet. Eat nutritious food and exercise. You cannot target weight loss in your waist and belly are anywhere. You also cannot “burn” fat. Your fat cells are static but grow or shrink depending on fat reserves you have. After having a child genetics play a huge part in your potential. I would start a healthy lifestyle beginning today. Don’t “diet”…pick a healthy meal plan you can live with for the rest of your life. Find a fun excercise (look up kettlebells, crossfit, or martial arts on the web) that will keep your interest for life.

There are no quick fixes. It takes a lot of hard work and energy. Good luck!

Sandra asks…

Can anyone suggest a three-week jump-start diet?

I want to begin a sustained weight loss program, and it’s often easier for me to start with a strict diet the first few weeks. I need to lose about forty pounds, and I exercise 2 hours M-F, circuit training, running, strength, and crew rowing; I supplement that with more running and circuits on the weekend and usually every day or every other day (I row varsity crew for my college). So I need some strict, yet sustainable diet suggestions that will get results in around a month. Thanks!

Maricela answers:

The Rotation Diet!
It is a 3 week diet plan that helps you lose weight quickly without messing up your metabolism.

I followed this diet plan to the letter about 10 years ago when I needed to lose 15 pounds and it worked wonderfully. ( lost the weight in less than 2 months)

It is easy, uses normal foods, and doesn’t force you to cut out any particular food or type of food (except excess fat)

Unfortunately after 10 years I put some of the weight back on… So I did the diet again last year and it worked again.

You do need to buy the book though I couldn’t find a copy of the diet planmenus on-line.

Here is the basic premise of the diet:
Vary the number of calories they consume during a three-week period (the rotation for women is 600/900/1200 calories); after three weeks and presumably a hearty weight loss, the dieter takes a breather and is allowed to return to “normal” eating habits.
The premise at work here is that diets fail because people get tired of dieting and because metabolism gradually slows after the body maintains a strict diet. To control eating during the maintenance phase, Katahn makes a number of helpful suggestions (i.e., exercise, drink plenty of water and avoid artificially sweetened drinks) and includes some not-so-exciting recipes.
