Your Questions About Weight Loss For Teenage Girls Free

Betty asks…

Why are we so UNHAPPY?

Why is it that we seem so geared to be unhappy so easily?

It seems such a chore to be happy on any given day for most of us.

Constant commercials for depression, for weight loss because we’re unhappy with our bodies, anti-drug commercials because we take drugs that ravage our bodies and lives just to escape and be happy.

No matter where you go, it seems we are generally unhappy, with comparatively few happy individuals.

Why is this?

Are we innately unhappy? Or is it the stress and rigours of our monetary, idealistic society that pressures us into it?

Sure, you see some happy ppl, I’m not saying everyone, but if you look at the population as a whole -every country has constant problems with an unhappy populas.

Any ideas on why happiness is so difficult for us to achieve? Is it innate, or a result of our own undoing?

Maricela answers:

I think it’s the media that’s making you perceive our culture as generally unhappy.

The diet and medication industry is HUGE. The market is tremendous and every company wants a piece of this market – by saying there’s something wrong with all of us so we buy their product. The more we see their ads, the more we hear that there’s something wrong with us, the more we’re going to believe it – even if we say we’re completely immune to these ads, when we’re hit with thousands of them each day, you can’t escape it.

The current generation is also being fed by this market – the instant gratification era. If we’re depressed for a week we suddenly think there’s something wrong and we go after any medication possible to fix it immediately. I’m guilty of it myself – when all of this media is being pushed at us saying we can have what we want when we want it, of course that’s what we’ll expect. We are also the “success” era – we feel we have to do something HUGE with our lives to feel like a success.

However, even with those characteristics – the media is really playing up on it. The news will go after any story that seems dramatic and eye-catching for the ratings – no matter what station. The “market” media (companies who want your money) are playing on every social trend to capitalize on everything possible.

One company has spoken out about the media barrage, and that’s Dove – their campaign has been targeted towards the “body image” industry. They have many videos showing the process of airbrushing and makeup to make models look – well, like models rather than the real people they are. They also have two other great videos – one about a teenage boy who waits for his girlfriend at her doorstep, and another about the daily media exposures little girls experience. This is only one facet of the superficial industry being tackled by one company, but it’s a start.

Let me suggest something – turn off the TV and use your iPod/cassette/CD player in your car rather than listen to the radio. Don’t buy gossip magazines. You can do a free two-week trial with NetFlix, watch your DVDs, or watch your favorite shows on Hulu.com with very limited commercials during this time. Do this for at least two weeks – it’s insane how quickly you forget about what we’re being hit with in the media. You start looking at news programs with a “grain of salt,” so to speak.

Ever since I cut out major media influences, I’ve noticed my quality of life (or at the very least, my blood pressure) has improved. It’s possible to separate yourself from these media influences. It can make all the difference.

Daniel asks…

i need help with weight loss?

I ‘m a teenager and actually i eat quite healthy. I weight 280 pounds and i’m 5 foot 11. I am a teenage girl and i’m 15 years old… i need to lose weight by Junior Year… i need help.. any ideas on weight loss.. please respond… but don’t answer you’re just fat… i eat lots of vegetables and i don’t eat fried foods… i dont look as big as it sounds i hide my weight quite well any answers, i’m open to… don’t be really rude though…

Maricela answers:

280 pounds seems a lot, but then again you are tall. Well, it’s good that you eat vegetables and hopefully fruits as well. Has it always been like this, or you just started being healthy? Now, let’s see… If you eat salads, avoid adding mayonaise, ranch, and high calorie stuff cause that ruins the whiole salad’s purpose. Instead, add a lil lemon-orange juice- a tiny bit of salt or vinegar. Try to substitute regular oil for live oil. Avoid as much as possible cakes, ice cream, chocolates, soda (8tablespoons of sugar a cup), fried stuff. As well, eating “healthy” is not just about what you eat but also about the times and the amounts. So have three medium sized meal a day and two little snacks (fruit, fat free popcorn, or some other stuff). You have to avoid coffee, whipped cream, butter, red meat as much as possible, cheese, white bread, and high calorie food that are not too nutritious. You should eat a lot of vegetables like spinach, tomatoes, broccoli, fruits, fish, chicken, turkey, 2% milk, fruit juices, lots of water, etc.
Finally, excercise. It doesnt have to be every day and u dont gotta get all exhausted for that. You can start to walk most night, or run a few times a week, then try the bycicle, and you will see resilts very soon.
Just don’t trick yourself and eat chips, and soda, because it will slow you down. Get someone to go to run with cause that way is more fun.
Don’t let yourself feel hungry for too long, cause this affects your metabolism , so next time you eat your body will take in more fat than it should.Any questions or anything else, just email me :D.

Sandy asks…

is this a good plan?????????

Put more energy out of your body than you put in it.

This way, you can eat what you want as well, as long as you know how many calories it has. Teenage girls are supposed to have about 2200 calories, so why don’t you aim for 1500 or something? Cardiovascular exercise will make it go even faster. Aim to lose about 2 pounds a week.

Drink lots of water, fill you up and it sort of gives you the impression that your flushing junk out of your system. Also, water sort of loosens up the fat cells and makes them less sticky so they can slide off you more easily, if that makes sense.

Just be active with everything you do. If you ahve the choice of elevator or stairs, take stairs. If you watch tv for an hour a day try and do something at the same time. step on and off a pile of books, jog on the spot, jumping jacks…

Chew gum (sugar free, a dental kind). It burns 10 calories an hour (not great, but it adds up), and it puts you off wanting to eat (everything will taste minty right?)

Be safe – don’t make yourself feel unwell. If you’re getting headaches and feeling tired then you’re not eating enough. Take in plenty of vegetables and fruits to keep your vitamins up. You’re body needs to be healthy and work efficiently to lose weight.

Trampolining and walking are good, but there are much more effective ways to lose weight. Try going for a jog, a swim or bikeride. Most of your body’s muscles are in your legs, so doing things with them burns the most calories. Try to do 20-30 mins of one of those every ohter day. In the day between that, do some sort of muscle, toning exercises. Sit ups, that sort of thing. So when the weight does come off you have a toned body underneath.

Eat dinner early. Otherwise you dont ahve a chance to burn it off.

I you didnt wanna hear the diet and exercise thing but it really will work because it has to. It’s like a law of physics your body cannot do more work than the energy it has to do it. If your food is 1500 calories and your body has to do 3000 calories worth of exercise, it will break down the fat. (Make sure you do do those muscle exercises too, otherwise your body might break down muscle).

Dont starve yourself you’ll slow your metabolism, and so slow your weight loss too.

Well done for your progress over the summer just keep it up.
