Paul asks…

How to lose a stone in roughly six weeks?

I am going on holiday and would really like to lose a stone I weigh 8 stone and im 5ft 2inch. Could you please give me ideas on weight loss food as I really dont have a clue.

Maricela answers:

Go wheat free. No pasta, pizza, bread and so on. And no food after 7 p.m. People achieve marvellous results with it. Depending on your initial weight, you can drop upwards from 20 pounds a month. If you don’t eat wheat then you don’t eat all those sticky, fatty goey cakes, you don’t eat junk food, and you don’t eat biscuits. But your diet is still balanced. It costs nothing, and you do not have to calculate points or to buy special meals or plans.

Mark asks…

How can I maximize weight loss on atkins?

I know that eating little or no carbs with exercise is the basis of the program, but will eating certain foods give a boost in weight loss? I heard that eating foods high in fat like mayo and avacado can help. Please let me know.

Maricela answers:

Shaun,

You should eat balanced for your metabolism. Just before Dr. Adkins untimely death he was beginning to shift his thinking away from an all protein diet. (It’s rough on the kidneys.) Balanced nutrition is the key to successful permanent weight loss.

You actually MUST EAT to lose weight. I know it sounds counter intuitive, but it’s the way our bodies are designed. When you feed your body the proper nutrition it does miraculous things. I didn’t believe it at first either until I was convinced to try it.

Holly cow, it actually worked. I wasn’t hungry, my energy came back, I was sleeping like a baby and I lost inches and pounds. It makes no sense because we’ve been bamboozled.

Here’s what you should do immediately. Get yourself some real food and have a decent meal, complete with complex carbs (no white carbs), protein and fat. Yes, I said fat. Did you know your brain needs fat to function? Low fat and no fat is killing people.

Next find out what type your metabolism is. You can do that for free at several sites on the Internet. Or you can Google “easydietforlife diet-assessment” without the quote marks to get to a good one.

Once you do that and know the proportion of carbs, fats and proteins you should be eating get your hands on a copy of “GOING FAT2Lean”. It will simplify it all, give you the simple rules how Mother Nature designed our bodies. You’ll learn what to eat, when to eat it and how much to eat. You’ll also learn how to motivate yourself and stick with the program, because you will learn this stuff once, but use it for the rest of your life.

So, I hope that this has been worth the read. Let me know how it goes for you. I am certain that once you’ve been convinced of the truth you’ll be saying good bye to pounds and inches forever.

Good Luck,

RICK

Robert asks…

How should I go about losing 50 pounds in 6 months?

I am getting married in December of 2010 and I desperately need to lose about 50 pounds before December 11th! I don’t really have the extra cash to spend on weight loss programs or weight loss food… or the gym! I do have access to some workout equipment, though. Please help!

Maricela answers:

In February 2009 I weight 197 pounds. In 3 months I lost thirty pounds, and by July, I weight 155. The best thing I can suggest is:

Stop eating fast food. Entirely. This is the main reason I lost all that weight. From February to May I didn’t eat fast food once. Lost 30 pounds. Once I started eating again I only lost 10 pounds in two months.

Stop drinking sugary drinks. Pop, juices, whatever. Powerade and Gatorade are OK, other than that stick to water, not flavored water either. I’ve heard from numerous people that without modifying ANYTHING else in their diet they lost 20 pounds just from cutting out sugary drinks.

Exercise. If you’re female I’d suggest not lifting unless you wanna look like a body builder. Just go for a run or something.

Cut out junk food. Limit the snacks to one a day. Sometimes two. I wouldn’t eat anymore than 300 calories worth of snacks a day.

DO NOT EAT 3 hours before bed. Once you sleep parts of the body shut down, specifically in the digestive area. Don’t eat anything three hours before bed or it’ll just sit in your stomach all night.

I cut my calorie intake down to 1500-1750 while I was dieting and lost all that weight. Unfortunately I myself have slipped and am back up to about 170, gotta get back on that again.

Sandy asks…

Is it OK to feed stray cats weight-loss formula cat food?

My cat got killed by a speeding car a few weeks ago. There is a ton of expensive, ScienceDiet weightloss formula cat food left over. I was thinking about feeding it to the strays outside.

I’d love for them to eat and feel full but will it cause them to become even skinner? Or attack their fat cells? does anyone have information about this?

Maricela answers:

It certainly wont make them lose weight. I’m sure it’s more than they’re getting now. Same with humans, just because you eat salads and low calorie foods, you still don’t wither away into nothing. I’m sure they’ll enjoy it. I’m so sorry to hear about losing your kitty.

Linda asks…

What to eliminate from diet for weight loss?

What should i eliminate out of my diet in order to lose the most weight. Any motivational tips?? I am 5ft6in 132lbs, I work out everyday and I havent noticed much weight loss due to my junk food addiction. Any suggestions? What did you do that worked?

Thanks!
obviously i need to cut out the junk, but what can I replace it with so its satisfying too?

Maricela answers:

You answered your own question: eliminate the junk food!

You can replace it with these healthy meals: https://shop.tsfl.com/?id=%20&spon_id=30067180

my clients who are on a maintenance/weight loss plan eat regular food and these meal replacements 6x per day, every 2-3 hours. The cheese puffs, pretzel sticks, pudding, bars and brownies seem like junk, but they’re actually packed with protein, the right amount of carbs, healthy fats, and 25 vitamins and minerals, all for about 110 calories. And all of the foods have the same nutritional profile – the brownie is just as healthy as the cheese puffs, so you can pick what you like.

They seem expensive at first, but think about how much you spend on junk and how little nutrition you are getting. People who are on the program for weight loss actually save $ because it’s redirected, not extra, food dollars. Granola bars from the health food store, which can be equally expensive, are usually nothing more than carbs – oats and sugar or something like that. Seems healthy, but actually not.

It’s like giving a dog a vitamin. We’re using food that tastes good to give your body nutrition, rather than empty calories in junk.
