teenage girl needs weight loss help?

im 5 foot 4, 16, and weigh between 133 and 135.8 pounds
i really want to drop my weight into the mid/ low 120’s,
for the past 5 weeks i have tried a calorie restriction diet (1300 cal per day) and have stuck too it with the exception of a couple “cheat days”,
this diet doesn’t seem to be working for me any ideas?

Hmm first of all do not have a cheat day., not at all even 1 cheat day can set you back 5 pounds for each cheat day. Have you tried cutting down carbs instead of just calorie restrictions.. You can have 3 donuts a milkshake and a slice of greasy pizza and call that 1200 calories and not eat the rest of the day but thats not going to help you lose weight,
you need to look at what your eating not how much.. Some foods are unlimited like vegetables,very low calorie things.. You need to drink lots of water a day 8-10 glasses.. Do not drink anything else or more then 1 cup of juice a day, no soda not even diet soda.
You need to have calcium each day sincew your a teen. Have skim milk and low calorie cereals for breakfast.
Dont have regular carbs only eat whole wheat. And do not have more then 2 or 3 carb servings a day., eat lots of fruits and vegetables, have vegetables for a snack and no dressing.. Instead of chips or a granola bar. Have thin unsalted pretzel sticks in a cup instead of non healthy snacks. You can eat pretzels as long as they are thin and have no salt.take away all condiments, no salad dressing not even low fat, no mayo, no ketchup, only mustard, no extra salt. Put lemon juice or vinegar on salads if you want
the only kind of protein to have is non oily fish, nothing fried, lean chicken, grilled or baked not fried,or turkey and thin lean cold cuts and limit the cold cuts no more then a few slices like 3 or 4 per meal, try 3.
Try to grill things, that takes out the fat. The best cold cuts are plain turkey lean… The dark meat like beef are more fattening. Dont use white bread just pita, wrap or whole wheat, anything whole wheat is best

have veggies at every meal, limit the fruit but you may have fruit as snacks
have a large salad with grilled chicken strips for dinner for example. Thats filling. Lots of lettuce
no dressings. No soup. You can have tea
you can have tuna

do not cheat. You can have a bag of dry cereal as a snack, try something lower calorie even if its sugary some cerals are like 90 calories a cup.

Plan meals every day. 2-3 servings of lean protein a day, stay away from red meat only have it once a week, take an iron supplement if you want, multi vitamin with iron
have veggies in every meal and snacks.have salad. You must eat every few hours 5-6 times a day or more. Theres a diet i followed called 6 small meals a day

it keeps your metabolism working by forcing it to work every few hours by eating very often. Every 3 hours i ate so i was not hungry.. But i ate healthy and smaller portions

drink alot of water and fill yourself on healthy thing
if you get hungry grab a healthy snack.some cereal, peice of while wheat bread, chicken, slice of turkey, fruit etc..look around for low calorie stuff,soy chips, rice cake
the most important is that you drink lots of water a day up to 12 cups not more

try walking and going on steps.walk down the block run up steps, take steps instead of elevator, jump rope.go on treadmil

you need to stay on a diet atleast 2 or 3 weeks in order to have a cheat day. You need to schedule a once a week cheat day. Pick 1 day oonly like sunday or tuesday. Only on that day can you have 1 unhealthy thing. But remember this sets your diet back but will still let your diet work. For example once your on a diet for a month you can have a slice of pizza every sunday.. Or an ice cream or frozen yogurt on sunday, a soda, a chocolate bar, a donut.. But the next day you need to go back to a strict diet. Also you cant over do it. If you chose to have a cheat meal you can have only 1 slice of pizza and 1 soda, not pizza, ice cream,apple pie, donuts, 2 hamburgers,cheesecake and a milkshake in the cheat day, thats too much and you will gain weight.

You need to pick 1-3 items to cheat on. So like 1 slice, a frozen yogurt and a soda

i did this. I lost 70 pounds. I was obese. But i had to stay on the diet for a month straight strict and not cheat in order to have a cheat day that was once a week and i would have like chocolate,pizza or soda or pizza and soda or chocolate and soda. The next day it was back to strict diet

again you must wait like 2-4 weeks on a diet in order to start a cheat day.. Also do alot of excercize and go to a gym. Spend an hour or half hour on a treadmil 2 days a week

Financially-Unless they’re Bill Gates daughter (which I doubt he’d ever let happen) than being pregnant at a young age mean getting a job and babies grow up fast having to buy clothes, food, diapers, formula, etc. Raising a child in today’s world cost 234,000 in U.S not including college.

Emotionally- Most of the time the relationship fail, or there wasn’t any relationship, you’re alone. Sure, some girls have their parents do all the work, but the girls who really stick to it and do everything by their self its emotionally tiring with no one there to make you feel better 2 a.m. In the morning when that baby won’t stop crying. Let’s also not forget how your hormones go wild during pregnancy and after pregnancy and being a teen with crazy hormones on top of it can get quite crazy and stressful.

Physically- Weight gaining, losing sleep can cause weight loss. Severe weight loss after pregnancy is not a good idea if you plan on breast feeding your child. Most teens don’t breast feed, they don’t know the importance of it, but anyway your body changes after pregnancy.

Mentally-Can cause depression and post par-tum depression. Which is not really high in teens, but it CAN happen.

Economically- Enough said.

Could I slim down and lose some weight?

Alright, I am 5’3, 150 pounds,14, and a girl. I want to slim down and lose weight throughout the summer for next year. For the eating part im pretty good about eating healthy. For the exercise im gonna start running but ease my way into it by doing the couch to 5k program 3 days a week. I am also going to strength train, but im not sure of a good strength training routine for teenage girls, if you know of any let me know. On the other days I was going to do some step exercise videos. Does this sound like a good weight loss plan to you? Do you think I will slim down?

It sounds like a good plan.
Just know that as you stick to the diet and exercise, youre going to have to change the exercise plan to something way more difficult.
Your body will slowly get used to it.
Good luck, I’m planning in doing the same thing this summer.
What I’m adding on top to the diet and exercise is drinking some teas that Dr.Oz recommended.

General Motors Weight Loss Diet, a.k.a. The GM Diet* – An e-mail received from Shri M Siddique (who recd from Ravindra Jaju)
Have you heard of the Physics Diet? As common sense goes, prevention is always better than cure!
The following diet and health program was apparently developed for the employees and the dependants of General Motors Inc.
The program was developed in conjunction with the grant from the US Department of Agriculture and the Food and Drug Administration. It was first tried at the Johns Hopkins Research Centre and was approved for distribution by the Board of Directors of General Motors Corporation at a general meeting on August 15, 1995 .
General Motors Corporation wholly endorsed this program and is making it available to all employees and families. This program will be available at all General Motors Food service facilities.
It is the management’s intention to facilitate a welfare and fitness program for everyone.
This program is designed for a target weight loss of 5-6 Kgs. Per week. It will also improve your attitude and emotions because of its systematic cleansing effects. The effectiveness of this seven day plan is that the foods eaten burn more calories than they give to the body in caloric value. This plan can be used as often as you like to without any fear of complications. It is designed to flush your system of impurities and give you a feeling of well being. After seven days you will begin to feel lighter by atleast 10 pounds. You will have an abundance of energy and an improved disposition.
During the first seven days you must drink 10 glasses of water each day.
All fruits except bananas. Your first day will consists of all fruits you want. It is suggested you consume lots of watermelon and cantaloupe.
All vegetables. You are encouraged to eat until you are stuffed with all the new and cooked vegetables of your choice. There is no limit on the account or type. Avoid oil and coconut while cooking vegetables. Have large boiled potato for breakfast.

Day 7: You may celebrate with champagne. You may also have white wine instead of champagne, but in all practical programs, and in all surveys done to measure the success of the program, General Motors employees have always preferred champagne to white wine.
More than one cup of coffee with milk is especially forbidden. Milk and oil add empty calories to your diet. Avid coffee lovers can console themselves with black coffee. However, after the first week, it will help your digestion and set your stomach. The key thing to remember is that if you are hungry at any time, then you are not following the diet correctly. Almost all people give up the diet when they are hungry because of dieting. The secret of this program is that you should never hungry. If it is a vegetable day, eat so much vegetables that you are never hungry. If it is a fruits day, eat so much fruits that you are never hungry. · 06 large onions
· 02 green peppers
· 03 whole tomatoes
· 1 cabbage

‘m 15 and weigh in at about 20 stone, I know it’s bad I want to do somethig about it but it seems like i’m always tempted to eat crisps or sweets, crisps are my major flaw. Please can you help with a major/ extreme weight loss plan. I have a big family and they always eat junk food wich I guess makes it harder for me. Please I’d love to be able to fit in with other teenage girls my age, I feel embarressed to walk out of my house. I’m desperate. Thanks, Tammy.

You need a proper dietitian and doctor for this. I doubt people on here are qualified to decided a weight plan for morbidly obese people. But well done you for recognising you need a change and doing something about it.
