How to lose weight without completely altering your diet?

I’m fairly active. 113 lb at 5’2. I count calories and am desperately trying to lose weight. I’m not the most healthy eater, but I’m not a horrible eater, either. I don’t want to completely alter my diet. Like I want to have a bagel every now and then, and with the holidays coming I still want a cookie sometimes . How can i lose weight without giving up all the foods I love ?

The goal is to lose fat, not just weight in general. If you are doing strength training during your weight loss (which you should be), you might actually see an initial gain in weight. If this is the case, don’t worry! You have probably lost fat and gained muscle, which is denser than fat and is much healthier.

How can I lose weight without giving up my fave foods and without losing diet programs. I really want to lose weight and I have tried other ways but they just dont work for me.

How do i lose weight without telling anyone i want to?

Like i dont want to tell anyone i want to lose weight… i dont know how to work out cuz i cant go to a gym and i have no free time after school… also we dont really have healthy food in the house cuz my sisters dont gain any weight, but i do! How do i lose weight without hinting anyone that i am trying, especially with all these problems?

I feel for you. When I was growing up my mom didn’t always have fresh fruit and veggies available and I ate ALOT of top ramen. It didn’t show up at the time but when I got older I had health and weight issues due to poor diet as a teen. I have enclosed a couple of sites for you. Maybe it would help to show your parent(s) the benefits of eating a healthy diet filled with fresh whole fruits and veggies. First off I would recommend as the others to exercise when possible, walk to the store and offer to do some grocery shopping and then you can find what fruits and veggies are on sale and buy them. If possible look at the store flyers and help write out the family shopping list and add the produce and lean proteins that are on sale to be bought. Even if your sisters aren’t gaining weight now the poor diet will affect them at some point of their lives! If you can, buy a podimeter and work on walking 10,000 steps a day. Whenever it is possible walk vs riding to the library or to friend’s houses. Exercise will help to loose those unwanted pounds. On those days you can’t get out of the house do squats, crunches, push ups and lunges for 10-15 mins at a time for 3-4 times a day. All of this adds up to a healthier you! And if necessary look for a trusted adult to talk to. Sometimes it helps just getting the feelings out and being able to think out loud.

How can I lose weight without exercising?

I suffered a back injury. It is continuous and anytime I try to exercise my SI joint and L4/L5 are effected and I end up on my back again. It is a vicious cycle and I want to lose weight and tone up. Anybody have any recommendations on what I can do to lose weight without exercising?

To lose weight (fat) you must consume fewer calories a day than you burn…so your primary method would be to drop your calories (do not go below 1200 per day). Weight loss will be slower for you, but it can happen…if you can swim or do any form of water aerobics or activity that wouldn’t stress your back, that might be an option to help you burn extra calories without aggravating your injury…also possibly a recumbent bike (stationary) as it would have you in a position to help your back relax (slightly reclined)…

If you have gone or are going through physical therapy (which would be common for an injury) what kinds of exercises do you do for that? Surely your PT trainer encourages you to do your exercises at home as well…
