How can I lose weight fast without diet pills?

I’ve been having a hard time losing weight, I’ve tried exercising for 45 min a day and it won’t help much, does anyone know of any home remedies for weight loss or anything of that matter.

Maricela answers:

There is no “get thin quick” secret. There are things that you could do that will make you lose weight fast… But things like crash diets and working out until you pass out are bad for your body and you will only gain it back. I know this from experience.

My best tips are to eat several small healthy meals throughout the day, your body need fuel, if you don’t feed it enough your body will think something is wrong and will try to store the food in case of emergency. When this happens you wont lose a pound. Change up your exercise routine every other day, work out your whole body, and keep active as much as possible during the day.

It’s not fast but it will work. Also set small goals. Try to lose 10 pounds in the next 30 days. The another 10 next month. It IS a process, there is no magic pill. And remember soda is not your friend.

How do you motivate yourself to lose weight?

I am losing weight and doing ok. But I find myself for weeks at a time spiraling back to square one. Any thoughts or beliefs that keep you on track?

Maricela answers:

Weight loss is an overall process and there are no magic answers. Pay no attention to weight loss supplements and pills and all the latest fads. You need to think about many factors but most of them are related to issues we’ve known about for a very long time. There are many sensible things you can do that will make a tremendous difference over the long term if you need to lose weight. It can be done in a healthy way. This is what has worked for me.

Keeping a food journal really does help. It will give you a much better sense of how much you are eating, and when, and why.

Make a few additional small changes – walk everywhere, always use stairs instead of elevators, walk on escalators, get up and move around at least once an hour if your work or your life in general is sedentary, walk every day, use a pedometer. Walking 10,000 steps a day is a really good idea. Build up to a long brisk walk everyday, or most days. Be more active and watch less TV and spend less time on the computer. Buy one piece of exercise equipment to have at home and be strict with yourself about using it. Sometimes you can find mini-steppers or exercise bikes at second hand stores and thrift stores for just a few dollars.

Start a weight lifting routine. Join a gym. Possibly you can find one that has someone who specializes in weight lifting programs for beginners. Weight lifting will increase your metabolism as well as improve posture and appearance overall. Even if you can’t get to the gym you can work out at home using things around the house. Invest in a good weight training book. The Dummies series actually has a good one.

In terms of diet, cut out or reduce things like junk food, pop, fat, fast food. Eat more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean meat, fish. Particularly if you choose a vegetarian lifestyle include natural peanut butter, hummus, dried fruit and nuts. Pay close attention to getting the nutrients your body needs to be healthy.

Make your portion sizes smaller. Use a smaller plate – in our society we have become accustomed to thinking that we need a large plate of food at every meal, and we don’t. About quarter of your plate of food should be protein and at least half of it should be veggies.

Learn to count calories. At your current weight and activity level, you may possibly need about 2000 calories or more to maintain your current weight. So you will lose weight at a reasonable and healthy rate if you cut back to about 1600 or 1700 calories a day.

Eat small amounts frequently, rather than three large meals. Never skip breakfast. Include some protein in your breakfast. It will help get you through the day.

Drink plenty of water, at least 8 big glasses of water a day, and more if it is very hot, if you sweat a lot, or if you are exercising intensely, and eliminate fruit juices. Fruit juices have too many calories, so get your vitamins from fresh fruit, not the juice. You will begin to see changes in your body.

An area that many people overlook is getting enough sleep. You are much more likely to overeat or to binge eat if you are tired and not well rested, so get enough sleep.

How do I become more muscular without losing weight?

I am around 5′ 4″ and weigh around 104 lbs. I want to become more muscular without losing weight. I am happy with my body but want more strength?

If you lose weight from lifting weights then there is nothing you can do about it maybe your to fat but don’t worry about it just work out and you will gain weight but weight doesn’t matter that much

What is the safest and healthiest way to lose weight while pregnant?

A person who is a 100 lbs overweight who needs to lose weight for health reasons just found out she is pregnant. Is there anyway to eat healthy and continue losing weight while pregnant?

Maricela answers:

You need to discuss this with your doctor. Dieting is not recommended during pregnancy. You’ll have plenty of time to shed the extra pounds after the baby is born. I would suggest reading The Schwarzbein Principle and The Schwarzbein Principle Cookbook. You can eat delicious nutritious meals and lose weight and it may be something your doctor will approve of during your pregnancy to keep from gaining excessive weight. Yoga, with your doctor’s approval can be helpful too. You want to give your baby the best start you can and maintain your health as well. How to keep your butt toned while losing weight?

I have a big butt, and it’s tone, and Im trying to lose 50 lbs, how do I keep my butt toned while losing weight? Big butts run in my family.

Maricela answers:

For toning, you need to lose a bit of weight to show the “toning through” if that makes sense. You’re not really losing weight since it’ll be replaced with muscle (that you’ve toned up) because you probably have untoned “fat” if that makes sense.

Since you’re female you’d want to do toning exercises that build lean muslces, so I suggest 30-60minutes of pilates a day, but you should always have a recovery day. Start out with 30minutes and eventually after maybe 2 weeks work your away up to 40/60. So every 3 days pilates, rest, and 3 days again of pilates. They’re really easy to do with your favourite TV show, revising etc.

Here’s a YouTube channel I’m using atm, I’ll send you some for thighs, legs and butt. There’s loads on the channel though, there’s even a 30minute pilate workout! They’re absolotely killer!!

And you should pair all of this with some cardio, you can go on for 30minutes/45minutes. And listen to music. But don’t ever give up, the extra 5minutes makes all the difference! And remember you’re doing it for you 🙂
Cardio is key for your metabolic rate, and more than anything burning fat and metabolism + fat burning are hand in hand! Really push yourself

Also try to drink 2Litres of water a day, what I did was, bought a massive 2L bottle of evian, and changed the lid to a “sucker” lid as opposed to a cap lid, so I felt more inclined to drink it.
This also helps your metabolic rate 😀 flushing toxcins etc. Getting trhe most out of your yummy foods 😀 – And here’s the channel with all her videos, there’s some summer edition ones. They’re intense though!

I just found this – ab workout one, on the same channel. Usually ab workouts strain my neck, but this one has a lot of “non-neck straining workouts” check it out! 🙂
