What are good exercises for men who want to lose chest and belly fat?

A friend of mine has a bit of a belly and moobs; which are what we call man-boobs. He doesn’t like that he is overweight and wants to change it. He has been doing hundreds push ups and sit ups daily and has lost good weight, but his man-boobs haven’t changed much and he still has a belly. What are good exercise choices to help these two areas? Also, I have concidered that his man-boobs may be caused from food that he has been eating…..

What would be a good weight-loss workout for a 20 yr old female?

I broke my hip in a car accident about 4 years ago and it tends to be a little sore so I would like some advice on exercises that would help me lose weight, with out added stress to my hip.

Seemingly everyone is trying to lose weight these days using a wide variety of diet and exercise strategies. Although men and women have the goal of weight loss very much in common, they also have quite different needs when it comes to achieving results. Since you are female and you will not be able to do all the exercises due to your sore hip, here is some useful info.

To begin with, the metabolism of a woman is very different from that of a man. Men have higher levels of testosterone (and other hormones) as well as more muscle and less body fat than women. Because of this, women have a much harder time losing weight because they have naturally higher levels of body fat and hormones (such as estrogen) which make the storage of bodyfat even easier. Overall, the only way to lose weight if you are a woman is to eat less food than a man, but exactly how much?

The best place to start is by figuring out exactly how much you want to weigh and then determine how many calories you will need to eat to achieve that weight. The basic rule of weight loss is to burn off more calories than you consume so no matter what your starting weight is you will need to create a deficit either by eating less or exercising more.

Once you know exactly how many calories you need to eat, the next step will be to figure out what types of foods work best for you. A good rule of thumb is to always try and eat as many healthy natural foods as you can. Additionally, you will want to ensure that your portion sizes are under control. Many women are very surprised when they discover how small a proper portion size is, so in the beginning you will likely have to pay close attention.

After you have modified your eating habits, the next step will be to begin a regular exercise routine. Most women that are new to dieting and weight loss get intimidated by the idea of a complicated exercise program. If this sounds like you, why not start with something as simple as walking? Walking burns off a considerable amount of calories and exercises the entire body. After you have built up some strength and stamina you may want to consider adding additional forms of exercise, such as Pilates or yoga.

Although weight loss for women can be very difficult, keep in mind that the most important determining factor in your success will be perseverance. Try block out the unrealistic images of the female body that are portrayed in pop culture all around us. Stay focused on yourself and you are very likely to achieve your goals of weight loss and greater health.

Should I try cardiovascular exercise… yoga/pilates… I’ve heard of them all but I’m confused because I can’t lose weight with any of them.

Im taking a PE course at my college right now, and he has us doing part cardio, flexibility training and strength training. I keep my strength training down to a min. Because I dont want bulk up.

My work out has consisted of (and ive lost 20 ibs thus far) is 40 min of cardio everyday to every other day.. Usually at least 4 to 5 days a week. I also do a cardio pilates tape. It does regular pilates for 25 minutes or so, which really flattens the tummy, and then another 20 minutes of a real easy cardio you can do right in your living room. I really enjoy it.

Also, cut out junk foods, soda’s… Start drinking lots of water. Stay away from fast foods… Stuff like that :o) the main key is exercise!

What are the fastest weight loss plans and ways to rid of red stretch marks?

I had my first child and the weight quickly went away and now it’s back! I’m anxious to get rid of it and fast! And these crazy red stretch marks on my thighs… Please Help!

Hi. The best one I have successful and have lasted for three years is Jenny Craig. Why? For me it was the specific eating plan thru the day. WARNING: a 1500 calorie diet may give you headaches or may make you feel weak initially. It will go away as your body transitions. While the JC program makes you buy their food for me it was worthwhile as it taught me how little I have to eat to lose and maintaining the weight off. You will be surprised how many calories are on restaurant food (I now seldom eat out and when I do I share or bring home most of it). About the stretch marks, I still have some from my overweight years. There are medical treatment available so you need to consult with medical specialists on this issue on treatment applicable to your skin and situation. You do need to dedicate a year, at least, to bring down the weight, to adjust your eating habits then the rest of your life working daily to fight off temptation. Check out DVD Pilates or yoga programs that you can do at home and establish a routine so you will not forget. This is not easy but it does work and the rewards (nice healthy looking body) are very nice. Good luck..

Surely yoga will help.

If you plan to make yoga your primary form of exercise, you must do a vigorous 90-minute yoga class at least three times a week. Many people also choose to combine yoga with running, walking or other aerobic exercise in order to reach their weight loss goals.
