What is a good weight loss diet for vegetarians?

Being a vegetarian for over 10 years, I now need to lose some of the weight i’ve put on in this time. Unfortunatly I must be eating an unblalance diet as i see plenty diets but most are for meat eaters none for us veggies. Any ideas for a good healthy Vegitarian weight loss program ?

Why is no eating less sodium good for weight loss?

People always say that less sodium and more protein is good for weight loss. why. what does it mean.

Maricela answers:

Excess sodium is harmful for the liver and kidneys. There is sodium content in parts of about every food we eat like sodium cookies, crackers and nuts, we need sodium however too much can be harmful. The American Heart Association recommend that we eat no more than 1 tps of sodium per day.

Sodium mainly balances the fluid content through out our body. Too much sodium would over work the liver and kidneys. Once that happens naturally the body gains weight as the food does not get disposed of immediately or the fluid content in foods are too much for the body.

Watch out for fad diets they typically contain a lot of sodium and don’t really work read below for more information on fad diets and other weight loss concerns.
